About

The Asian Drama Philosopher (A-Philosopher)’s Chair examines art, literature, nature and philosophy through the lens of Asian dramas. In so doing, it seeks to bridge the chasm between liberal arts and popular culture.

A lovely wish…I do hope you are enjoying this Christmas day.

Thanks also go to muchadoaboutlove (*) and Cindy Knoke for dropping by!

(* Do visit her site for extensive resources on ancient Korea!)

  2. Another note of thanks, this time to Terry Sissons, for a response to a New Year’s Day message:

2015 - Brave New Dreams (Image from 2014-15 Korean drama Pinocchio)

“… Dance like there’s nobody watching, love like you’ll never be hurt, sing like there’s nobody listening, and live like it’s heaven on earth—that is at least a platitude containing wishes we can make true ourselves.

Happy 2015 and, in earnest hope for all of us, cheers to a bright new year free from the self-imposed shackles of the past!”

A wonderful best wish. Thank you. The same to you.

  3. Thanks for liking my posts or else, I wouldn’t be able to find this wonderful blog! It’s right up my alley of things I would actually look at in my leisure time. ^^ Please continue with more great posts in the future!! ^^

    • I appreciated my walk in the woods. They are a great sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As Henry David Thoreau remarked, “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practise resignation, unless it was quite necessary.”

Thank you for posting here so that I will remember to visit your site again for my virtual dose of nature!

      • I agree and that is why I love this quote I use : “There are souls, in these noise-tired times, that turn aside into unfrequented lanes, where the deep woods have harbored the fragrances of many a blossoming season. Here the light, filtering through perfect forms, arranges itself in lovely patterns for those who perceive beauty.”….Roy J. Cook

It is from the preface of my favourite poetry collection “101 Famous Poems” edited by Roy J. Cook. While the quote is spoken of the need for poetry, I believe it also addresses our need to retreat into nature for renewal.

Look forward to your future visits!!

    • The moonstruck chair also squeals with delight at the news of another award going to Kwon Sang Seung-nim and does the chincha dance with him on the spot!

You’re generous with your nominations again. 😀 At the rate I’m handling these awards, you may only see my full response in 2016 so I’ll make a quick note about your first question:
The first blogger that comes to my mind is actually you! #^.^#

      • “Kwon Sang Seung-nim” LOL XD Yey, chincha dance!!! 😀
Yup, if i wasn’t “generous” it would be tormenting to choose and i wouldn’t enjoy it as much as i do! Take your time, patience is a virtue (but when it comes to dramas it’s a virtue and a curse at the same time), 2016 will be a great year from the A-Philosopher’s Throne at that time when the response appears! Yey, gomawoyo! ^-^ *teleports for chincha dance meeting* [bzzt – instant sound of teleportation]
